Be sure and slap a little flour on your face and clothes just before serving so your guests think you’ve been working for hours making homemade crackers just for them! Little will they know just how easy homemade crackers really are to make.

Cheddar Crackers

1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
Dash cayenne pepper (or use 1/8 teaspoon of our great Chili Seasoning blend)
2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese

In a food processor, combine everything except grated cheese. Pulse blend until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.
Add the cheese and pulse blend to mix well. Shape dough into a log about 2 inches in diameter. Wrap in plastic wrap and
chill for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Unwrap and slice the dough into 1/4 inch slices, placing them on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake until lightly browned on the edges, about 10 minutes.
Cool and store in an airtight container or zip plastic bags. Makes 30-40 crackers.
